About Travel Moments for Her
Who We Are
My daughter and I love exploring new destinations and experiencing different cultures. Our goal is to share travel tips for women and information about our experiences that can help other women feel safe and self-confident about traveling on their own, whether for business or pleasure.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide valuable travel information and travel tips for women, focused on removing the anxiety that can come with going new places and doing things by yourself. We want to help empower women with the confidence to travel on their own or as a mom with kids.
Why We Started Travel Moments for Her
We started Travel Moments for Her because we know that there can be some hesitancy for people to travel alone, especially women. This includes travel for work. We wanted to create a platform where we can share travel advice through our experiences and passion for travel and inspire others to have confidence in their travels.
Meet the Creators
Jen
Born in Texas, raised a military brat, I have visited 41 of 50 states and 26 countries. I attended high school in what was then West Germany and was able to travel much of Europe.
I started traveling with my parents at a young age, back when you were able to take travel naps by throwing some blankets in the back of the station wagon. I continued traveling throughout my career in Transportation as a Civil Engineer. Learning about different modes of transportation was my job, and I was able to learn through practical application across the United States.
Through my passion for photography, I continue to seek out new adventures and enjoy sharing those with my daughter and co-creator, Bella.
Bella
Unlike my Mom, I have called the same house home for my entire life. While her high school trips included seeing Macbeth at the Royal Shakespeare Theater in Stratford-upon-Avon, I saw Macbeth at the local movie theater. My experiences would have been limited if not for my adventures planned and executed by her.
I have had a fair share of trips with my friends and teammates, but it is fair to say that without the lessons I have learned from my Mom about traveling safely, those trips would not have run so smoothly.
Now, as I am attempting to navigate college as an adult, I notice that the experiences from those adventures are helping to lead me through this journey. Not only did the travel teach me how to use a bus or buy plane tickets home, but they taught me many other valuable lessons in forging my independence. My hope is to offer a younger, and different perspective than that of my Mom who had the great idea of creating this site.

Special Requirements
This may include general information items such as special entry requirements or permits at state and national parks.
- August 4, 2023 - the state of Oregon law changed allowing self-service gas pumps in the non-rural areas of the state. Stations will still have to provide attendants and some full-service pumps as an option.
- National Park Service has implemented timed entry tickets for certain parks during peak periods, these can be purchased on recreation.gov. Check the individual park you plan to visit for detailed requirements and to determine if any special permits are required before you travel at NPS.gov.
- If you want to go to any of the bucket list areas with limited access (such as The Wave in AZ or Half Dome in Yosemite, CA) be sure to check out the lottery process that is used to gain a permit for the area (check the park website or recreation.gov). An alternative is to research local tour companies that have access or find you own unique spots where permits are not required or are easier to come by. Always follow leave no trace principles and consider human impact when tagging locations on social media. Best of luck!

Special conditions can cause impacts to travel. These include weather, political, environmental, and others. I will provide links to helpful sites, as well as some specifics where warranted.
- Political Advisory UPDATED 10-15-25: The National Park Service is operating the parks with minimal staff due to the government shut-down. Please be courteous and continue to follow the rules. Ignoring permit requirements on some hikes can lead to crowding and unsafe conditions. Please continue to also follow the Leave no Trace principles. Take care of our parks.
